COSTA RICA – Costa Rica has the highest minimum wage in Central America

According to the Preliminary Overview of the Economies of Latin America and the Caribbean in 2023, issued by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Costa Rica remains the country with the highest minimum wage in the region, with CRC 358,609, equivalent to USD 687. The Dominican Republic follows with a minimum wage of USD 245 or its equivalent in national currency of RD $13,685.
