Partner at CENTRAL LAW appointed at NYSBA Committee

Tomás Quirós, Master in Laws graduated from Columbia in 2017 adn partner at CENTRAL LAW in Costa Rica, has been selected as Liaison of the International Section of the NYSBA Young Lawyers Section Executive Committee for the period 2019/2020.

The vision of the Young Lawyers Section is to serve as a bridge to professional life in the New York State Bar Association for new lawyers. The Section mission is to effectively meet the unique needs of new lawyers. The Section goals are to provide educational, career and leadership development, community service and pro bono initiatives, and networking opportunities to meet the unique needs of new lawyers; enhance communication between new lawyers and the New York State Bar Association; increase new lawyers’ participation in the Section; and, foster an inclusive setting committed to diverse members and interests.

Section 3. SECTION LIAISONS. There shall be, when possible, two (2) Section Liaisons for each of the substantive sections within NYSBA that request liaisons. At the discretion of the Officers, a 3rd liaison may be appointed for a particular section, taking into consideration the size and needs of the section in question. Each of the Liaisons shall be responsible for the following duties: attend at least two (2) meetings of the section, division, or committee to which assigned per NYSBA year; attend at least two (2) YLS Executive Committee meetings per NYSBA year; represent and advocate the interests of the YLS and its members to the assigned section, division, or committee; prepare and submit one (1) liaison update for publication in Electronically In Touch per NYSBA year; assist with and participate in YLS committees and activities, including events, programs, and projects; assist the District Representatives in his or her district in planning, coordinating, and conducting district events; and perform such other acts and duties as may be prescribed by the Chairperson.  Section 1.

LIAISONS. There shall be such Liaisons from this Section to other sections, divisions or committees of the Association as may be appropriate from time to time.
