The Dominican Republic and El Salvador, through the Directorate General of Customs (DGA), signed a customs cooperation agreement to facilitate trade between the two countries. The agreement establishes the mutual recognition of the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), to ensure compliance measures in terms of security for trade between the two countries.
“The inclusion of mutual recognition of AEO status is particularly significant as it will contribute to the efficiency and security of international trade between the two countries. Such agreements are essential to promote a more efficient and secure trading environment. It is encouraging to see the focus on customs modernisation and trade facilitation between the two countries. These efforts will undoubtedly contribute to a more conducive environment for economic growth and trade between the Dominican Republic and El Salvador,” said Alfonso Lomba, partner of CENTRAL LAW in the Dominican Republic.
