The legislative body has approved a reform to the Labor Inspection Law, originally established under Decree 178-2016. The primary aim of this law is to promote, monitor, and ensure that employers and employees comply with and respect legal provisions related to labor, social security, workplace safety and health, and social security regulations.

The reform is specifically designed to eliminate age discrimination in the workplace, applicable to both the public and private sectors. This new amendment focuses on protecting individuals over the age of 35, ensuring they are not discriminated against during recruitment, selection, and hiring processes.

Additionally, it imposes stringent penalties for non-compliance with these provisions, with fines ranging between two and three minimum wages.

This reform fosters a more inclusive and equitable work environment in Honduras, advancing the fight against discrimination.
