It is the first time the city will host the event. Registered to attend are more than 800 private practice lawyers, in-house counsel, legal academics, government officials and bar association representatives from 35 countries \u2013 another record for the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IBA President Horacio Bernardes Neto<\/strong>\u00a0of law firm Motta Fernandes Advogados in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, will provide opening remarks at the Conference. He stated ahead of the event: \u2018<em>IBA conferences are the best way for connecting with people within the international legal profession and establishing lasting and mutually beneficial relationships. I believe the same will be true of the large number of dealmakers expected in Santiago.<\/em>\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pablo Iacobelli<\/strong>, Conference Co-Chair, IBA Corporate and M&amp;A Law Committee Officer and partner at Santiago law firm Carey, commented: \u2018<em>Santiago is honoured to welcome so many regional and international delegates to the Conference.
