Last September 25, the “Miguel Larreynaga Distinction for professional and academic achievement” was awarded to our Senior Associate, Mrs. María Asunción Moreno Castillo. The event took place amidst celebrations for the Nicaraguan Lawyer Day. This is the highest distinction awarded by the National Academic Commission of Law Faculties (CONADER) to lawyers who have excelled in their contribution to the improvement, development and reputation of their profession, as well as in recognition of their commitment, perseverance and devotion to university Law teaching.
María Asunción Moreno Castillo is a prominent Nicaraguan lawyer with a Doctoral Degree in Law from the University of Alcalá, Spain, and a Master’s Degree in Constitutional Law and Political Science, obtained in Spain. She graduated with a Law Degree from the Central American University, Nicaragua, where she is currently a Law professor. She has been a member of the team of the CENTRAL LAW Nicaragua regional firm since 2013.
Over more than 20 years of professional practice, she has worked as legal advisor for the National Assembly and as international consultant on several legal subjects. She has practiced Criminal, Procedural, Administrative, Constitutional, Corporate, Litigation Administrative Law, Competition, Consumer Protection, and Personal Information Protection Law.
