Honduras will launch EOI for the modernization of Puerto Castilla

Head of the Commission for the Promotion of Public Private Partnership (COALIANZA), Miguel Angel Gamez, said that the qualification of interest to the project of Puerto Castilla will be published.

The investment of this private project will bring direct benefit to the state and  will benefit adjacent communities, in this case the communities of Castilla, Trujillo, the department of Colón and then will be connected by agricultural corridor, said the commissioner.

The project involves the modernization, expansion and improvement of the physical facilities of Puerto Castilla. There is already a port terminal built by the State of Honduras and this initiative aims to provide an improvement, an extension, modernization, but especially to attract new units boat to come to promote trade with our country, explained the commissioner.

Gamez said that "we have advanced greatly since the evaluation of this project, because this is a private initiative that has been subjected to several analyzes of our legal department, technical and financial part that is for us the most important"

The expression of interest will be published in different media to see if third parties are interested in the project and wish to participate in the bidding process.
